So entstanden in Anlehnung an Midrasch, Talmud und Halacha zunehmend religiose Erbauungsbucher fur familiare Feiern im judischen Jahreskreislauf, beispielsweise die Haggada vom Pessach, welche das Ritual der abendlichen Familienandachten dieses Festes enthalt . Die bedeutendsten sind die Kaufmann-Haggada (Budapest), die Goldene Haggada (London) und die Haggada von Sarajevo, vermutlich die alteste erhaltene und am prachtigsten illustrierte. Wahrscheinlich entstand sie um 1350 im Norden Spaniens und gelangte um oder nach 1492 uber Norditalien und Ragusa nach Sarajevo, wo sie 1894 im Besitz der sephardischen Familie Cohen wieder entdeckt wurde.
