Für den Fotografen Simon Fröhlich war es die konsequente Fortführung seines fotografischen Schaffens, in diesem analogen Umfeld nur mit analogen Techniken zu arbeiten. Diese Entscheidung erwies sich nicht als Beschränkung sondern als Befreiung von den technischen Möglichkeiten heutiger Fotografie. So begab er sich auf die Suche nach seiner eigenen Vergangenheit, deren verblasste Momente unscharf und teilweise nur noch als Fragment einer vagen Erinnerung erhalten waren. In the early-1980s Villiger's own body became the focus of her work: it appears fragmented, distorted, twisted beyond recognition.
