Dazu soll in einem ersten Schritt die von Metz genutzten Begriffe der Anamnetische Kultur, der memoria passionis und der gefährlichen Erinnerung vorgestellt werden. Anschließend wird ein kurzer historischer Hintergrund zum bewaffneten Konflikt in Kolumbien gegeben und die Rolle der katholischen Kirche diesbezüglich beleuchtet.Der Hauptteil der Seminararbeit liegt in der darauffolgenden Analyse von drei Veröffentlichungen der Comisión de Conciliación Nacional, welche unter der Schirmherrschaft der Kirche steht, hinsichtlich des Konzeptes der memoria passionis. Die daraus gewonnen Ergebnisse werden in einem vierten Schritt zusammengefasst.In diesen Tagen ist uns das Leid der ukrainischen Bevölkerung durch den Angriffskrieg Russlands schmerzhaft bewusst. Bilder und Berichte über Angriffe auf zivile Ziele wie Kindergärten und Kranken-häuser, sowie getrennte Familien und auf Hilfe angewiesene Flüchtlinge beeinflussen auch in Alltag in Deutschland. Die Welle der Empathie und der Hilfsbereitschaft in der europäischen Bevölkerung ist groß, aber erfahrungsgemäß wird beides weniger werden, sobald sich das mediale Interesse am Konflikt und seiner Opfer erschöpft.Wer denkt heute noch an die Leidtragenden der Jugoslawienkriege, der Nuklearkatastrophe von Fukushima 2011 oder der Terroranschläge in Paris im Jahr 2015. Alle diese Ereignisse hielten die Welt in Atem, solange sie im Fernseher, in Zeitungen und sozialen Medien präsent waren. Heute jedoch wird über diese Geschehnisse und ihr (immer noch andauerndes) verursachtes Leid nicht mehr gesprochen. Die Gesellschaft scheint sie vergessen zu haben.Ähnlich verhält es sich mit langandauernden Konflikten. Die deutsche Bevölkerung weiß um den Bürgerkrieg in Syrien und den Genozid in Myanmar, aber diese humanitären Katastrophen werden kaum (medial) diskutiert. Falls doch über Vorfälle mit hohen Opferzahlen berichtet wird, ist beim Publikum oft eine schulterzuckende Reaktion zu beobachten.
