Zustand: Hervorragend. Zustand: Hervorragend | Seiten: 416 | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | This is the fascinating, often humorous, story of Danny G Langdon-a person who has lived a very lucky life. A world traveler, he is one of the most sane, charming, talented, funny, profound humans you could possibly know-which i…s unlikely when you read that he was born in a warehouse and raised in a junkyard setting. However, he thrived in such an unusual environment! It promoted his curiosity as he lived with his seven siblings and widowed mother who ran a scrap metal, hide, wool, pelt, and fur business for 40 years. His is a story of overcoming learning obstacles to become a well-rounded person, a successful entrepreneur, and the author of a baker's dozen books. During the first days of the U.S. Peace Corps, he volunteered as a teacher in Ethiopia-personally meeting President John F. Kennedy at the White House and his Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie who visited in his classroom. He rose to the top of his profession largely through identifying who he is and employing his own strategies for self-development-"setting his compass" as he likes to phrase it- overcoming his weaknesses and capitalizing on his strengths. He had a remarkably successful career, was honored for his innovations, and became an internationally recognized authority in Work Clarity as the originator of his Language of Work ModelTM. Danny and his wife, Kathleen, were business partners consulting with numerous major companies around the world. He is often labeled by others an "old soul". In retirement he remodeled their home to achieve breathtaking serenity using paintings and artifacts collected from around the world-90 countries and counting. Now 86, he has planned his finality by writing his own obituary, designed a beautifully crafted burial urn, and laid out plans for the celebration of life for the son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, and man who so enjoyed life. His is an unusual lucky life story, especially for parents and their children, to learn how to enhance their own life journey.
