Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Gadfly's Zoo: With Additional Stories by Roshan B. Karki is a collection of imaginative and philosophical stories that blends fantasy, spirituality, war, love, politics, science fiction, and reflections on human existence. The book contains several interconnected stories, including 'A Garden of Heart,' 'Gadfly's Zoo,' 'Chasing Aliens,' 'Lighthouse Is My Home,' and a bonus story, 'Mastermind.'The central story, 'Gadfly's Zoo,' follows Colonel Roshan and his old friend Gadfly. Their experiences begin in the context of the Vietnam War, where they confront violence and reflect on humanity, civilization, and the destructive nature of war. Gadfly dreams of a magical zoo filled with unicorns, mermaids, and dragons, suggesting his desire for a world beyond violence. After leaving military life, Gadfly settles in Tibet with a Vietnamese woman named Soni. He buys a hill and creates a remarkable zoo containing rare plants, extinct animals, blue roses, unusual flowers, and extraordinary creatures. The zoo becomes a place where tourists can experience beauty and wonder. Its motto, 'you can find salvation here,' reflects its connection with spirituality and the search for a better life.Much of the story consists of conversations among Roshan, Gadfly, and Soni about philosophy, religion, politics, destiny, spirituality, the law of attraction, and the possibility of a higher power controlling human lives. They question whether humanity is guided by destiny or free will and whether religion should unite rather than divide people. The additional stories expand these ideas through dreams, mysterious mirrors, supernatural experiences, love, politics, and visions of a perfect world. Overall, the book presents an imaginative exploration of humanity's desire for peace, love, knowledge, freedom, and a better world. Karki combines fantasy with philosophical questioning to encourage readers to think beyond ordinary reality.…
