Hardcover. Zustand: gut. 1997. A sober purchase for a kung fu enthusiast. A decent book based on a set of Zui Quan forms. Specifically, it is about a form of Eight Immortals Drunken Boxing. The book portrays several kata step by step, with a picture for each step, so that the reader is not confused by spartan descriptions. Much…information is given as to how the kata can be divided into moves and then applied in a fight against the average opponent. Given the Internet's lack of detailed info on Zui Quan techniques, and the lack of practitioners compared to more popular styles such as Mantis, Crane, and Wing Chun; I am surprised that one of the only decent books on these kata would be so decent. Were info on Drunken Boxing more prevalent, I might score this book a four. But since there are so few sources, and since this is better than what I was expecting, I'll grant it a five. Considered a theatric style, Dr. Leung Ting presents The Drunkard Kung Fu. This instructional is thorough. I appreciate the attention to stance and proper foot work. Photographs and illistrations are excelent and augmented with notation on proper tempo and pauses within the form. The practical section is good though not exhaustive, demonstrating aplication of various moves. Dr. Ting has also produced a video (unfortunatly on VHS, remember that?) that is a great addition to the book. Well designed, to my mind, this is how you present Kung Fu instruction in book form.
