In 1877, he became bishop of Rangoon, conducting missionary work across Burma and neighboring regions. After suffering an injury in 1881, he returned to England and later served as a coadjutor for English chaplains in Europe. Titcomb published numerous theological works and was actively involved in religious debates, especially regarding Anglo-Israelism. He died in 1887.
