David Douglas Cunningham (18431914) was a Scottish medical doctor and researcher known for his work in public health and medicine in India. He investigated cholera's spread, focusing on bacteria and fungal spores in the air, and contributed to early aerobiology. Cunningham served as a professor of physiology in Calcutta and participated in significant cholera studies alongside Robert Koch.
