Physiography playing a crucial role in geographical distribution and locational pattern of higher educational institutions, more than four-fifths of total higher education institutions were distributed in areas located below 1500 meters height and located along national and state highways. Due to the constraints of terrain in the hill state, there has been a judicious use of land in opening of teaching courses in higher education colleges and universities in the state.
