The book also deals with various aspects of counter insurgency policies formulated by the Central Government of India and State Government of Assam. The implications of insurgency and counter insurgency on India's national security have been exclusively articulated by the author. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dr. Onkar Sadashiv Pawar has been working as Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Defence and Strategic Studies, School of Arts and Humanities, North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon since 2013 under the University Fund. He is B.A., M.A. and NET in Defence and Strategic Studies. He has pursued his Ph.D research work from Dept. of Defence and Strategic Studies, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. His area of Interest is in national security and defence budgeting. He has worked as Research Assistant and then Lecturer in PG Dept. of Defence and Strategic Studies, Bhonsala Military College, Nashik at the beginning of his career.
