Neuware -In this research, the emphasis was given to analyze the perception and practice of development journalism in Addis Lissan Newspaper in accordance with the fundamental principles of developmental journalism and to objectives articulated in the editorial policy of the AAMMA. As a problem, people were complaining about Addis lissan Newspaper which couldn¿t report their problems critically rather it told them the successes and good sides of the government as an achievement. According to the finding, this study showed that there is misconception, high intervention of political officials and gap of knowledge among the higher officials of the media house, government bodies and a little number of journalists in order to implement DJ principles regarding the editorial policy. Therefore, the application of development journalism in AAMMA particularly in Addis Lissan newspaper was going in contradiction with most commonly agreed up on principle of development journalism.
