Other etiologies include fall, industrial or recreational etiologies. Prevalence of intrabdominal injury varies widely ranging from 7.7-65%. Most studies indicate that peak incidence occurs in persons aged 14-30 years. Ultrasonography is the primary modality of choice for diagnosis of intrabdominal injuries.Ultrasonography is a noninvasive, rapid, accurate, portable, relatively inexpensive examination, serial examinations can be performed and it can be done in unstable patients during resuscitation. Other diagnostic modalities include Computed Tomography and Diagnostic Peritoneal Lavage.
