His work challenges familiar categories of thought-in particular, those relating to gender identity. Digital Descending is the first monograph by the artist to be published in Germany. LuYang (b. Shanghai, PRC) lives and works in Shanghai. Amely Deiss is director of the Kunstpalais and the Municipal Art Collection in Erlangen. Nora Gantert is a curator and sinologist in Nuremberg.
