Il fotografo Ken Ohara si è trasferito da Tokyo a New York nel 1962 e si è imposto all'attenzione del pubblico nel 1970 con la pubblicazione di One, che conteneva più di 500 primi piani di volti. Nei 30 anni successivi, Ohara ha continuato i suoi studi di ritratto in forme molto diverse.
