London-based artist Lothar Gotz (*1963 in Gunzburg, Germany) creates murals based on geometrical source materials, with an emphasis on architectural references and concepts of space. The starting points for his works are buildings, empty spaces, and architectural sites, to which he responds with ke…en intuition. Beginning with the given conditions of a space, he sees both the historical contexts and the modern, functionally determined concept of architecture as a formal challenge. Unique spatial characteristics and architectural constructions are recorded, while their geometrical principles are reinforced by means of intense coloration. Gotzs drawings are an important resource for his murals. Even though they are independent works, many of them are still used as preliminary sketches for later spatial elaborations. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.
