Frequency scheduling relies on Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) report by the user equipment (UE). The main challenge in CQI reporting consists of reduction in number of CQI feedback overhead maintaining the performance of the system throughput. Several CQI feedback scheme have been proposed for 3GPP LTE- A systems. In the open literature, the threshold Feedback Compression Scheme and Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) is proposed to reduce the CQI feedback overhead. Threshold Feedback Compression Scheme performance is compared against CQI feedback without compression schemes. Feedback Compression offers a flexible process for CQI feedback that can be easily adapted to different operating scenarios. Simulation results indicate that the Threshold Feedback scheme achieves significantly higher throughput than other.
