When life gets messy, it's natural for us to get stressed, angry, or even bitter. This is especially true when things don't go the way we expect (i.e. broken marriage, dysfunctional family, loss of a loved one, sickness, death of a dream etc.). Let's face it, life consists of messes. They aren't always because you've done something wrong. Sometimes, they just happen. One of my favorite scriptures, James 1:2-3 tells us to 'consider it all joy' when we encounter various trials, knowing the testing of our faith produces endurance. 'And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing' (Verse 4) The purpose of this book is to show God's faithfulness throughout my life. I've learned that most of the time when trouble comes, God wants to sharpen, mold, and transform us into something greater. He wants us to see a side of Himself that we haven't seen yet.
