Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. Football fans dream of finding a Tony Kenworthy, Sheffield United and latterly Mansfield Town's hard-as-nails, heart-on-sleeve, inspirational goal-scoring defender from football's golden era of the 1970s and 80s. The Blades were his true love to the extent that he spurned regular advances from many of the top clubs as Sheffield United suffered hell, slumping from the First Division to the Fourth. But TK became a key figure in United's subsequent revival before gut-wrenching injuries led to his highly emotional release and amazing times with homely Mansfield Town. A controversial, yet life-changing spell in prison ended his playing career then led to his reinvention as a family man who overcame post playing day blues. TK is again involved with today's much-changed beautiful game but behind the cameras this time with Sky Sports. TK's story contains fascinating insights into many iconic characters including: Jimmy Sirrel, Harry Haslam, Martin Peters, Alex Sabella, Keith Edwards, Terry Curran and Ian Greaves. He also relates some great times including 'that Saturday' against Walsall and compiles a surprising team he considers his finest. Blade Heart is an engagingly honest-to-the-core story of a true Legend of the Lane who mirrored the rollercoaster emotions of the many thousands of fellow fans who watched him. This is a down-to-earth tale of football free of spin, selfishness and mega money - enjoy it, it's unlikely to happen again! The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.…
