Certificate of Authentication sticker to inside cover stating: 'This is to certify that this casebound edition of 'Brands to Bexhill' is limited to just 984 copies numbered 051 to 1,034, of which this copy is No. 140'. Born in Bexleyheath, bred at Brands Hatch and 'retired' to Bexhill sums up only half the life of Max Le Grand. By way of parental indoctrication Max was reared against a background of highly combustible competition at Brands Hatch - first he watched motocylce grass-track racing but when the venue became a road circuit, motor racing dominated his young life. At school-leaving age, tutors spotted Max's eye for colour, composition and detail. This gift was realised on a photographic course at Medway College of Art, Richester. After he had served his apprencticeship in London, Max placated a zest for travel by combining his photography with internationa motor racing. He observed and recorded events for numerous publications and it was not long before the motor and photographic industries acknowledged Max's camera skills with awards, accolades and exhibitions. Living and working in motor racing, home and away for fifty-two weeks a year, by Max's own admission, drove him barmy! In 1977 he 'retired' from the sport to pursue other activities; deep ocean yacht racing, television presentation, and eventually travel writing combined with photography. Illustrated. 256 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Academic Literature.).
