The genesis of this book was my assignment as corporate-wide new product development director for an SME. I simultaneously pursued a doctorate in business at Pace University with a focus on organizational innovation. I combined these two perspectives into case study research into how to improve the performance of new product development at SME businesses. The research results were presented at the 2017 Conference of the American Society of Engineering Management. This book builds on this research to present a practical blueprint for SME leadership.
