Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Penpookkal. The title word 'Penpookkal' means female flowers. Professor Etumanur Somadasan, an eminent literary laureate writes in his Foreword: ' PENPOOKKAL - A collection of true to life stories. It was a delightful experience for me to go through the stories in the book 'Penpookkal', authored by Prof. K.C.Geetha. And it was a pleasant task for me to write a Foreword for this book. I find, the author believes that a story should primarily be an original one. The plots for many of her stories originate from everyday life. She then skillfully creates a suitable setting, deploys apt characters and the plot beautifully blends into these to form a compelling story. The narration is so expressive that the readers vividly visualize the moments and events described in them. The characters in them are utterly believable. Her style of writing is simple, with no flowery language or elaborate descriptions. Another remarkable feature I noticed is that, the author largely concentrates on the internal conflicts and thoughts of the characters rather than on the descriptive narration of events. The subject matter of stories in this book is varied; some stories deal with personal life issues, some with social issues and some with very humorous situations. The author even strays into the world of fantasy in one or two stories - weaving fantasy and reality in a very artful way. In every respect, I can undoubtedly say that this short story collection, 'Penpookkal' would be a readers' delight.'.
