Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. 64pp. 9.5x.5x7.25" Bright, clean & tight copy, unread, in Very Good condition (slight beumps to front cover). "AGGLOMERATING the first half of the introductory preface of the glacially-accreting pictogrammatic narrative experiment arbitrarily designated, for purposes of convenience, as 'RUSTY BROWN,' as well as presenting perfunctory prefatory remarks regarding our second, though no less glacial tale, tentatively titled 'BUILDING STORIES' (pp. 61-vi) to which the careful reader will note a suspicious similarity of themes, ideas, and color tints, despite its being an entirely independent and intentionally remote aesthetic organism." [front cover tiny print] "Though [previous ACME Novelty Library issues were] originally released by alternative comics vanguard Fantagraphics Books, this new sixteenth issue is the first to be entirely produced, printed and published by Mr. Ware alone; limited to a single press run, once it is sold out, pulped, and/or burned, neither of these narratives will be available again until 'RUSTY BROWN' and 'BUILDING STORIES' are eventually edited, collected and remaindered as hardcover books. Thus, be the first in your mercantile district to own this first chapter of what years from now is sure to be a tart, possibly insincere reminder of the fragile economy and mental disposition of the early 21st century." [publisher copy] "Ware is the most versatile and innovative artist the medium has known."--Dave Eggers, The New York Times Book Review.
