Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Following her profound\* collection IMPOSSIBLE CONVERSATIONS, Carla M. Wilson focuses her unique vision on cinema in CURIOUS IMPOSSIBILITIES. Taking her cue from French New Wave films of the 1960s, Film Noir, and classics from the '70s and '80s, Wilson constructs a series of homages to ten visionary directors. Her 'cinematic riffs' offer creative interpretations of their iconic films that broke stylistic boundaries using non-traditional techniques. CURIOUS IMPOSSIBILITIES subtly reveals the universal pertinence these timeless films bring to audiences culturally and artistically, socially and politically. Wilson's interpretations and imagined dialogues usher the reader into a magical new theatre where darkness becomes illumination. '.Wilson invites us into an awareness of the blurred line between reality and fiction rooted, I believe, in Wilson's early formative experiences in moving into and out of that dark room, the movie theatre, in and out of dream and reality until they began to merge in her imagination. It is this dialectic - realized in dialogue - that interests this very talented author.' -from the introduction by James R. Hugunin ___ \*American Book Review.…
