Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Two worlds collide when Andy experiences a close encounter of the weirdest kind while exploring the far reaches of his grandmother's jumbled attic. There among the tantalizing piles, Andy uncovers a mysterious scroll filled with indecipherable text and suddenly finds himself eyeball to eyeball with Bes -- the undersized, overstuffed, protruding-tongued god of ancient Egyptian legend! Although Bes makes clear his intent to return the crumbling document to its rightful homeland, Andy is reluctant to surrender his newly found treasure. While vying for control of the scroll, Andy persuades Bes to tell the epic tale recorded in those hieroglyphs -- a tale that takes place in a world filled with magic and ruled by immortals; a golden age so remote even the ancients referred to it as Tep Zepi (the 'First Time'). Bes sets the stage by providing a crash course in the creation of the world (Egyptian style) and introducing the original gods of the ancient Egyptian pantheon before diving into the cosmic rumble between Osiris, Isis, and their conniving brother Set -- the world's first and deadliest game of thrones. So begins, The Story of Bes.The original Story of Bes was published nearly two decades ago with a Foreword by John Anthony West. This is the updated and substantially expanded Anniversary Edition, which also contains an in-depth glossary of the many historical and mythological terms used in the story as a ready reference for those wishing to learn more about the magic and mystery of Bes's ancient homeland.
