The more speaking engagements she accepted as a Breast Cancer spokesper…son, the more she realized that the stories of other survivors needed to be shared. She became an advocate for the women she encountered and began asking the women she met to keep journals of their good days, tough days, and everyday life after their diagnosis. Lonnie also asked the family members of the women who had lost the battle to share stories on behalf of their loved ones. Cancer is scary, frustrating, and confusing. It makes some going through the battle stronger, and also destroys some relationships. In some instances, it even creates new friendships, and life-long bonds. As with any war, some win the fight, and others lose. No matter what God allows, we must accept and pray for peace and understanding!
