These books are used for self-training and as textbooks in conflict resolution programs, colleges, universities, and law schools. He is currently writing another book on mediation - Beyond Basic Skills for the New Mediator.Goodman was an attorney in private practice for seventeen years, and served as a private mediator and arbitrator. In 1993 he left the practice of law when he was appointed a federal administrative judge on the United States General Services Administrative Board of Contract Appeals, where he served as a trial judge and an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) neutral in disputes between contractors and the federal government.
