We should rather ask whether Jesus is good enough. Likewise, we should never ask whether we can lose our salvation. We should rather ask whether Salvation, who is Jesus, can ever lose us. Is Jesus good enough to give and maintain our salvation, justification, sanctification, and glorification -God can and does look at sin! Jacob could not receive Grace until Jesus disjointed his hip/thigh such that he could not stand up in his own strength. Jacob now had to completely lean on Jesus, so as to not fall down.-We cannot ever be rejected because acceptance is not based upon our works but by His goodness. After Adam and Eve sinned, God made garments for them to wear and still had fellowship with them. The Israelites were walking-talking disasters yet God parted the Red Sea and dried the seabed for them. This was done so that their sandals would not become encrusted with mud, as in Psalm 106:9, He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up; he led them through the depths as through a desert. When Adam lost the ring of spiritual authority through sin, Jesus bought it back. The fatted calf was sacrificed for the undeserving. When we deserved nothing, He gave us everything.-So, is the bible about Christian living or is it about Christ Is the bible about our sacrifices for Jesus or is it about Jesus' sacrifice for us Is the bible a self-improvement manual or is the bible a revelation of Jesus In short, is the bible about us or is it about Jesus -If we are the center of the bible, then most books in the bible become How-to guides. We read the bible to discover how-to better our lives, how-to perform better, how-to do more and obey more. While most of these efforts are very good and commendable, the emphasis is on us doing many good works so that God will be pleased with us.-But if Jesus is the center of the bible, then another picture emerges. It is now Jesus who did all the good works. God is pleased with us, not because of our works, but because of Jesus' completed work on the cross. He did it so we do not have to. It is all about Jesus.
