Following the family tradition of military service , Charles Poynder entered Dartmouth Royal Naval College at the age of 13. WWII started two years later and the young Poynder found himself serving in the famous cruiser, Kenya as part of a Malta convoy. He ended the war in Subic Bay in the Philippine Islands and took part in the japanese surrender of Hong Kong. The boards have small bumps to the corners, otherwise the book is square, tight and clean as is the text block and dust jacket. Book price includes 2nd class parcel post in UK only.
