Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. These are a series of the annual seminar synopses compiled by the RAF Historical Society. They are attended frequently by both historians, serving personnel and veterans of various battles and military operations the RAF are or have been involved in around the world. We have the below in stock:The B…irth of Tornado - 2002Seek and Sink - Battle of the Atlantic (with Staff College Bracknell) - 1991*A History of Navigation in the RAF - 1996*TSR2 with Hindsight - 1998Royal Air Force in Germany 45-93 - 1999The following is taken from the Tornado issue."Today we are going to focus on the Tornado and its early development. In my judgement, the Tornado is one of the most important aeroplanes we have had since the war. It certainly ranks with the Hunter and the Canberra, because it gave us, for the very first time, something we had been looking for ever since 1945, the ability to do attack missions by night and in bad weather. The Tornado gave us that capability which we have now had for the last two decades. It was therefore a successful project and, as your Chairman mentioned, I had seven squadrons of these beasts in my command in Germany. I flew regularly with the crews and I can assure you they loved the aeroplane. They knew they had the best aircraft of its type in the world and they were very content with it"Ex private military library stock so expect library markings and sparse annotations in the text.
