This is the story of the Delaware Memorial Bridge, a dual-span suspension bridge crossing the Delaware River and the link between Delaware and New Jersey. The bridge was designed by the firm of Howard, Needles, Tammen & Bergendoff with consulting help from engineer Othmar Ammann. The first span opened in August 1951, and the second in September 1968. The book is bound in the original blue cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine and front board. The book is in excellent condition with light bumping to the spine ends and the contents are tight and clean. The author has inscribed the title-page thus: "Bruce with my best wishes Bill 9/16/83". The unclipped dustwrapper has shelf wear with bumping to the spine ends and rubbing to the corners. There is a 3/4" tear with some surrounding creasing on the bottom rear edge, and the tear has been repaired on the reverse with tape. Inscribed by Author(s).…
