No notes or highlighting. See images. Fantastic book. About the book >.>.> The Forest Fire by Piero di Cosimo is one of the most famous pictures in the Ashmolean Museum. This booklet is intended to provide more information about the artist, the painting, and its subject-matter. As such, it matches the publication on The Hunt in the Forest by Paolo Uccello (1981). Like that booklet, this too was initiated by a small didactic exhibition arranged around the picture by the present writer. Unfortunately it has taken longer to effect the transformation from exhibition into print and it is only through the kind and generous assistance of Ann Jones, a student who read for the Diploma in The History of Art in Oxford in 1982-3, and through the timely intervention of Sarah Shalgosky, a graduate in the History of Art from the University of East Anglia, that this booklet has been brought to a finish. I am indebted to Ann Jones and Sarah Shalgosky for their hard work and diligent efforts. (LL).
