Hardcover. Zustand: Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Fine. 1st Edition. First edition. First printing. A fine copy in a fine jacket. A clean copy with price ($19.95) intact on front flap. Comes with archival-quality jacket protector. Note: Some foxing on top edge and top edges of some text block pages. Although not marked in any such way, this book came from the library of poet and literary critic J.D. McClatchy, from his estate in Stonington, Connecticut. REVIEW copy, with review letter laid in. McClatchy also clipped and laid in Milosz's poem "Lithuania, After Fifty-Two Years" (The New Yorker, Aug 1993) and Helen Vendler's reviews of Milosz's works (The New Yorker, Oct 1988; The New York Review, Aug 1992). McClatchy laid in some typed notes about Milosz's poems (with some handwritten notes) and a letter to a friend or colleague, Lauren, in which he gives advice pertaining to her "Lowell script" and signs off in ink.
