A very good copy for its age, in a slightly damaged dust jacket, of the first edition, first printing, of this overview of the history of printing type. Dust Jacket: pale blue paper with darker blue lettering to front and spine; very clean and bright…; some fading to both flap folds and erosion to the bottom section of both flap folds (probably water damage), greater loss to rear fold (2") than to the front (1"); small bump to top of spine, no loss; no fading to spine; not price clipped (now protected). Cover: navy blue cloth covered boards with blind stamped lettering to front and gilt lettering to spine; clean and bright but some marking to rear outer edge adjacent to fading and loss on dust jacket (may be related); overall in very good condition for a 30+ year old book. Internally: very clean and tightly bound; small, discreet book plate from previous owner to front paste down; no other markings or inscriptions; slight signs of water damage to bottom outer corner of last 30 pp approx. Illustrated throughout in black and white. 224 pp. This is a rare and collectable book and the price has been reduced to accommodate the small amounts of damage.
