Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good-. First Edition. Color reproductions; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 144 pages; Oversize HC. Notable association copy. Prior owner and noted collector of American Illustration Art Robert Wohlsen, for some years was the owner of the iconic Held painting - "The Girl He Left Behind'. Wohlsen established a small museum to showcase his collection of Wyeths, Parrish, Pyle and many others. He campaigned for a Held postage stamp issue and hosted a 1st day cancellation event at the Litiz, PA post Office where the Held "Girl" was exhibited. Laid in at front is an envelope with a 1st day cancel of the Held stamp from the event in 2002. Also laid in are several pages of 2008 email correspondence between Wohlsen and John Schoonover of Schoonover Studios regarding the sale of Held's most well known work the flapper painting featured as the frontis in this book. The book is sound and decent with trace sunning at spine and slight rub to cloth at tips. Lacking dust jacket. VG-.
