These elements occur in a particularly concentrated form in the three principal liturgies for morning and evening prayer as well as in holy communion. The question arises: whence came these elements which are so typi- cal of the theology of the revivalistic movement as well as for their prac- tical use in evangelization meetings? Our objective then is to trace the source of these revivalistic ele- ments and to reveal how they reached The Book of Common Prayer of 1662.
