Clean, attractive & gently used hardcover in FINE condition. Lyrics & Text by Lou Reed, with Photographs by Julian Schnabel. "Lou Reed has always explored life's extremes of darkness and light. It is no surprise, then, that he considers Edgar Allan Poe a spiritual forefather. In 2001, his musical POEtry--codirected by theater legend Robert Wilson--reimagined Poe's enigmatic work to mesmerizing effect. His subsequent studio adaptation, The Raven, has been hailed as one of his more daring and challenging albums to date. Here, accompanied by photographs by Julian Schnabel, is the definitive text of the CD release. THE RAVEN includes Reed's distinctive takes on Poe's most celebrated works, as well as song lyrics written for the CD and the play. A fascinating meeting between a dark chronicler of the twentieth century and his nineteenth-century counterpart, this handsome edition is a must-have for fans of Reed and Poe alike." [jacket copy] Handy hardcover w/brilliant corners & crisp edges, a square & tight binding, wrapped in a darkly-bright jacket. Quite presentable.…
