In addition, Josephine was instrumental in raising the age of consent from 13 to 16. This is the poignant tale of a nineteenth-century woman who challenged taboos and conventions in order to campaign for the rights of her gender, no matter what walk of life. Her story is compelling and unforgettable. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.
