First impression of the first simultaneous hardback edition in English. Translated and with a six-page introduction to the fore by Victor Corti. Dustwrapper illustration by John Sewell. ***Very good in black cloth-covered boards with silver titles to the spine. Head and tail of spine slightly creased. Boards clean and unmarked. Corners sharp. Page block edges clean, with just light foxing to the top edge. Internally also very good with no inscriptions or annotations. Interior pages clean. No creases or tears. Spine tight. ***In a very good colour-illustrated dustwrapper, which has not been price-clipped, retaining the original printed price of £3.95. Edges of dustwrapper just slightly rubbed and creased. No tears or chips. The dustwrapper is slightly discoloured and browned at the edges (Please see scans). ***204mm x 132mm. 223 pages. ***'This important volume includes one of Artaud's most seminal texts, "The Theatre and Its Double", and his play "The Cenci".
