They are bound in brown leather with red outline on front board, and red block boxes on spines, with nice gilt titles on both the front boards and spines. Marbled inside and back covers, all papers are gilt edged. Volume I: has 209 pages, Volume II: has 276 pages. Both books are part of the "Classics of Exploration" Time Life Books, Amsterdam, Tylston and Edwards, London, reprinted and bound in 1984. These books are a facsimile of the 1894 Memorial Edition, published four years after his death (the original author Captain Sir Richard F. Burton, edited by his wife Isabel Burton). Included with each volume is a EX LIBRIS label, an overview on both sides of a one page document, and a Certificate of Authenticity which is authorised by the The Editors of Time-Life Books to verify that these two leather bound books are exact reproductions, photographically produced from rare, early editions. Two gorgeous books that would grace any stylish library.
