Ce double objectif est parfaitement légitime; toutefois, il me semble être à l?origine d?une certaine ambivalence dans les définitions de l?archéologie cognitive proposée tour à tour par les différents auteurs. A fundamental challenge is to develop the theory, methodology and tools to understand human cognition. One direction has been to develop an 'interpretationist', anti-scientific, literary approach. Another has been to use a linguistic framework and develop a hermeneutic, semiotic approach.
