Areas of psychiatry which have been particularly newsworthy in recent years such as child abuse, sexual abuse, the psychiatric problems associated with Aids and tranquillizer abuse have been given specific attention. The general format of the book has, however, been retained and the emphasis remains on a description of the orthodox standard National Health Service practice of the specialty of the type the average individual who needs to have contact with the psychiatric services is likely to experience. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.
