Taschenbuch / Paperback. Zustand: Gut. 176 p. Einband leicht berieben und bestoßen, Seitenschnitt an einer Stelle eingedrückt, sonst guter Zustand. Bleistift-Vermerk auf Innenseite des Titelblattes / Binding slightly rubbed and bumped, page cut dented in one place, otherwise good condition. Annotation in pencil on inner side of title page. - As the basic questions of social structure were elucidated there came a quickening of interest among social anthropologists in the study of religion. Could it be seen as a product of the social structure ? Melford E. Spiro, an American anthropologist less involved with the British controversies and more sensitive to the psychological issues, reviews the general field and the kinds of explanation that have been proposed. His fellow-countryman Clifford Geertz, in a comprehensive discussion, explores the cultural features of religion. Victor W. Turner opens up quite a new avenue of analysis with his fascinating exposition of colour symbolism in an African tribe, and R. E. Bradbury shows that the structural approach, when further developed, can still bring new enlightenment. It may easily be that the structural theory fits better in some kinds of society than others; certainly Edward H. Winter gives good reasons for believing that this possibility will require more detailed consideration by anthropologists. ISBN 9780422725101 Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 279.
