Erstausgabe
Cloth. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine. First Edition; First Printing. A Nearly Fine first printing of the first edition with little rubbing to the edges in a price-clipped and scuffed Near Fine dust-jacket; is a book about the early life of Wilhelmina, the last Margravine of Bayreuth. The Margravine was born on December 21, 1837, to Margrave Friedrich of Bayreuth and his second wife, Princess Therese of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld. She was the youngest of five children. In 1853, when she was only thirteen, her father died and her mother became the Margravine. The Margravine and her mother had a difficult relationship and the Margravine was often left to her own devices. In 1866, her mother remarried, this time to Duke Charles of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The Margravine was not happy with the new marriage and she frequently clashed with her stepfather. In 1871, the Margravine married Count Friedrich von Wartenberg, a man she had met while travelling in Italy. The Margravine and Count Friedrich had two children; 8vo; 320 pages.
