Hardcover. Zustand: As New. Leichte Kratzer / Abnutzungen / Druckstellen. In an exclusive interview, President Bush remarked, "You can't worry about being vindicated. it's going to take a while for history to really understand." This sentiment encapsulates the essence of the insights provided by veteran political reporter Fred Barnes in his exploration of Bush's presidency. Through extensive access to the Bush administration, including rare interviews with key figures like Vice President Dick Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Barnes offers a compelling insider's perspective on how Bush's distinct style and bold reforms are transforming the nation and the world. The book reveals how Bush operates as an "insurgent force" in Washington, redefining conservatism and creating a new Republican majority. It delves into the evolution of American foreign policy under his leadership, highlighting the surprising shift in his stance on democracy and the pivotal decision to invade Iraq, despite the political risks involved. Barnes also uncovers the influence of lesser-known aides on Bush's vision, the impact of his faith on decision-making, and his ability to outmaneuver political opponents and media skeptics. By defying conventional wisdom and rejecting "small-ball" reforms, Bush has demonstrated a unique approach to governance. This riveting account illustrates how George W. Bush has emerged as a transformative figure, reshaping both the political landscape and the world stage.
