In den Warenkorbhardcover. Zustand: Good. Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.

Hardcover. Zustand: Very good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Good. Format is approximately 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches. [12], 208, [4] pages. Illustrated endpapers. Illustrations. Inscribed by the author on the title page. DJ has some wear, soiling and several creases and scuffs. Kay Redfield Jamison (born June 22, 1946) is an American clinical psychologist and writer. Her work has centered on bipolar disorder, which she has had since her early adulthood. She holds the post of the Dalio Professor in Mood Disorders and Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and is an Honorary Professor of English at the University of St. Andrews. She has been named one of the "Best Doctors in the United States". She was chosen as one of the five individuals for the public television series Great Minds of Medicine. Jamison is the recipient of the National Mental Health Association's William Styron Award, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Research Award, and the Community Mental Health Leadership Award. Derived from a Kirkus review: A manic-depressive clinical psychologist finds solace after the death of her husband. Redfield analyzes her life with celebrated scientist Richard Wyatt, who suffered the recurrence of Hodgkin's disease after 20 years in remission. Wyatt earned a psychiatric residency at Harvard and went on to become Neuropsychiatry chief at the National Institute of Mental Health. Jamison's manic mood swings caused friction early on in their romantic relationship. They married in 1994, only to have Wyatt's cancer recur five years later. Stem-cell transplants and chemotherapy afforded them added time together, but little more than a year later, the cancer took his life. Alone and unmoored, Jamison amazingly skirted the pitfalls of her formerly depressive state and found clarity, managing to make peace with her husband's death. A soul-baring love letter to the author's loving life partner that also addresses the debilitating condition that restricted her from enjoying life to its fullest. First Edition [stated], presumed first printing.
