In Divine, Demonic, and Disordered, Hsiao-wen Cheng considers accounts of 'manless women,' many of which depict women who suffered from 'enchantment disorder' or who engaged in 'intercourse with ghosts'-conditions with specific symptoms and behavioral patterns.
