Erstausgabe
First printing. 269 pp., large square folio. One of two hundred numbered copies in the deluxe edition, in full leather blind-stamped binding and cloth-covered clamshell case. Save for microscopic spots of wear at the corners, the book is in very fine condition, with printed mylar slipsheet, housed in a grey cloth-covered case with inset front-cover image. The case has a mild bump to one corner but is otherwise as new (the inset image has no scuffs or scratches). Significant additional shipping charges. A selection of works from the Comer Archive, a photographic record of the city of Chicago at the turn of the millenium. Containing 199 full-page images in color and black-and-white by 39 photographers, paired with essays by fifteen Chicago writers, including Rosellen Brown, Stuart Dybek, Joseph Epstein, Aleksandar Hemon, Alex Kotlowitz, Li-Young Lee, Achy Obejas, and Studs Terkel. A massive undertaking, in every sense.
