Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Good. 1st Edition. Very good condition. Minor wear to book corners and edges. Light foxing to top foredge. Dust jacket has wear to edges and some minor marks including price sticker remnant. Dust jacket is now enclosed in a glossy protective cover.Melbourne's Botanic Gardens are famous throughout Australia. They are largely the result of one man's foresight and horticultural skill - W R Guilfoyle. Despite early opposition and financial problems, Guilfoyle produced a landscape canvas of nearly 90 acres from 1873 to 1909. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle claimed the gardens were 'absolutely the most beautiful place' he had ever seen. Guilfoyle's life story had not previously been recorded until this book was published in 1974.
