In den Warenkorbhardcover. Zustand: Good. Bickford-Smith, Coralie (illustrator). Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.

Originally published in 1920 and for the first time in this edition in 2000. Crown Octavo 7½" by 5" (190 mm x 126 mm) approx. 260 pp and notes. White boards with bordered silver titles to the upper board and spine. Small mark at the bottom edge; no other wear. Striped silver and white dust wrapper with white inly and silver titles to the front wrap and spine panel. A nick and some light rubbing along the bottom of the jacket but no other wear. Near fine. Edited and with an introduction and notes by Patrick O'Donnell. This hardback editions was originally published to mark the 70th anniversary of Fitzgerald's death. Increasingly disillusioned by the rejection slips that studded the walls of his room and his on/off engagement to Zelda Sayre, Fitzgerald began his third revision of the novel that was to become 'This Side of Paradise'. It is the story of a young man's painful sexual and intellectual awakening that echoes Fitzgerald's own career. It is also a portrait of the lost generation that followed straight on from the First World War, 'grown up to find all Gods dead, all wars fought, all faiths in man shaken' and wanting money and success more than anything else'. The dust jacket will be protected with a new inert archival quality acetate sleeve which is removable. Please contact us if you would like any more information or additional photographs.
