George Cantor was an author and working journalist since 1963. His award-winning column was a fixture in the Detroit News for twenty years, and he wrote extensively on American history, travel, spoils, and pop culture. Cantor was a consultant and travel writer for the History Channel and served as a prime contributor to the cable network. Derived from a review found on-line: It's like a snapshot of the roads from 1990, freezing the southwest briefly before the 21st century rushed in. Some of the information provided, like where names came from or old myths, do not change with time while other information (like opening hours) obviously may no longer be accurate. But Cantor provides a useful history of the roads that has largely stayed the same.
